(Nashville, October 20, 2010) This past September at Canadian Country Music Week, a large group of Canadian country artists, including Michelle, convened to record a benefit single and video to honour our fallen Canadian troops and their families. All proceeds will go to the “Military Families Fund” and “Boomer’s Legacy.”

The “Military Families Fund” is an organization that provides immediate assistance, such as specialized health care and rehabilitation, to military families in need. “Boomer’s Legacy,” a private charity, specializes in helping deployed soldiers and others in need with essentials like medications for a clinic or buying school supplies for students. The foundation was created in honour of Corporal Andrew “Boomer” Eykelenboom, a soldier killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber in 2006.

The song, titled Standing Strong and True (For Tomorrow), was composed by Ron Irving, Lynda McKillip and Tom McKillip. Artists who performed include Terri Clark, Emerson Drive, Victoria Banks, Aaron Pritchett, Crystal Shawanda, The Higgins, Michelle and many more.

The single will be available to purchase online next Tuesday, October 26, and the video will be available to purchase November 2. To see the streaming video now, visit www.cmt.ca (the video player is on the right side). The video can also be seen on CMT Canada.
