(Nashville, August 18, 2010) Brian Ferriman, President of Savannah Music USA and Michelle’s long time manager, is pleased to announce that the first release from his recently relaunched Savannah Music label in Canada will be the remastered and repackaged reissue of Michelle’s 1988 debut album, Do Right By Me, on Tuesday, August 24.

With over 42,000 albums sold in Canada alone, the original Do Right By Me was a major hit in Canada for its time. It gave Michelle the first hits she ever had – no less than seven in Canada – and it led to her first U.S. record contract, still more hits, and a career that continues to bring her in front of audiences around the world. All seven of the hits from Do Right By Me still receive significant gold airplay on Canadian country radio, especially the album’s three Top 10 singles: the title track, the AC crossover song I Wish I Were Only Lonely, and Michelle’s distinctive cover of Andy Kim’s Rock Me Gently.

The new Do Right By Me will be most welcome: Brian Foraker’s skillful remastering has brought the album sonically into the 21st century. The new version also includes a bonus track never before available on CD — Michelle’s duet with the late Terry Carisse from 1987, the title cut of his album None of the Feeling is Gone.

The roots of Michelle’s success are out in the open again with the re-release of Do Right By Me. The strength of those roots — and the singer’s own strength — is self-evident in every song. Not everything that’s old becomes new again, but this classic country record sounds as fresh, lively, and exciting as it did when it was originally made. In fact, remastered and repackaged, Do Right By Me sounds and looks even more crisp and fresh than it did the first time around.

In stores in Canada, August 24, 2010. Pre-orders are available from Michelle’swebsite store now. At present, U.S. sales will be online only.
